Scheduling Tool that rocks my world: Tungle
Why does it rock my world? Simply, it plays nice with every other calendar application out there, and if it doesn’t, you simply write to the developers and they fix it! In May of 2010, Tungle didn’t sync with iCal (a Mac application). Several people wrote in, asked for it to sync, and voila! Now it syncs with iCal.
Project Management Application that doesn’t make me insane: Huddle
Why? Simply, the dashboard makes sense to me as a small business owner. It has a calendar that’s simple to find AND use, the task management is easy to navigate and adding users to a task or project is simple. I don’t feel like I need an engineering degree in order to operate the program.
Great tool for keeping it all together: Google Apps
Why is it so great? If you’re an Outlook user (but have grown to hate its instability), Google Apps takes everything you love about Outlook, puts it all together, and synchronizes everything (EVERYTHING!) seamlessly. Its easy to manage, easy to learn, and easy to navigate. And they’re getting better day by day. There’s always something new coming with Google Apps. In the last year alone, the application has added so much functionality, its hard to explain it all here. Its worth it.
For sending large files: Use Dropbox
Dropbox is, like everything else I’ve mentioned here—easy to use. On top of that, it’s FREE! It can easily handle files up to 8 GB for transfer. Depending on the size of YOUR hard drive, its also quick. I can usually transfer a large video file (1 hour webinar with video presentation) in less than 4 minutes. Sending it via email would lock everything up otherwise. I use Dropbox to hold files that I need to share with multiple people. When I want to send a file to someone, I simply go into Dropbox, and “share” the file. The recipient can then download it to their own hard drive or USB.
For Merchant Services: CalliPay
CalliPay does customer service RIGHT. They learn your business, and then develop your merchant services (credit card processing) so that it makes sense for your business, instead of trying to mold your square peg in a round hole.
